Bob Bob Joseph Erickson

Robert "Bob" Joseph Erickson passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 93. Born on September 5, 1931, in Long Beach, California, Bob lived a life marked by dedication to his family, community, and passions.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deane Erickson; his sister, Theresa Yourgulez; and his four children: Susan Hemm (Jim), Linda Weiss (Karl), David Erickson (Cathy), and Robin Pennick. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

A proud Marine Corps veteran, Bob carried the values of service and commitment throughout his life. He built a successful career as a Realtor and Broker in Tucson while also dedicating time to organizations such as Toastmasters, Woodcrafters, and Optimists. His passion for hands-on education led him to advocate tirelessly for maintaining woodshop programs in public schools. Bob's craftsmanship extended beyond advocacy—he often handmade wooden toy cars for underprivileged children, bringing joy to countless young lives. Known for his humor and storytelling, Bob had a gift for making those around him laugh and feel connected. He was also a strong supporter of Beads of Courage, recognizing its profound impact on the community he loved so dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to a local public school (Flowing Wells High School being a favorite of Bob's) CTE program to honor his enduring commitment to practical education and creativity.

Bob's legacy of kindness, humor, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and inspiration to those he touched throughout his remarkable life.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
